Starting 34th in the field of forty-three, Fultz lost an engine before the halfway point and finished a disappointing 39th. Fultz stepped it up to a three-race deal in the 2002 season, starting the year off by competing at the famed Daytona International Speedway. He kept out of trouble there by finishing 29th and then topped that in his next start with a season-best 26th place outing at Nashville. However, he ended the year 42nd following a wicked hit at Charlotte. Fultz's final three series starts came in the 2003, when he finished a career-best 77th in points. Fultz again ran very well early in the year, staying out of the big wreck at Daytona to finish 19th. He was even more impressive at Charlotte, completing all but one lap to finish a career-best 16th in the May race and adding on a solid 22nd place run in the fall race (his career finale).
