  • Paleontologist Paula Shaffer traveled back to Upper Cretaceous Montana to do a field-study on hadrosaurs. During her study, she imprinted on a new-born hadrosaur, and then found herself in a stampede as the herd fled from attacking gorgosaur. While she and her infant hadrosaur were lost overnight, Paula had come to believe that hadrosaurs instinctively hatched in the same areas. Paula tested the theory by setting the infant on the ground, and then following it back to the nest.
  • The spacefaring Voth of the Delta Quadrant were thought to have evolved from hadrosaurs. (VOY episode: "Distant Origin") In the far future, around the year 21,436,000, the Collectors kept a group hadrosaurs in their preserve along with other dinosaurs. Federation Department of Temporal Investigations special agents, Gariff Lucsly and Marion Dulmur, along with Jena Noi, witnessed a Borg Tyrannosaurus rex pursuing a herd of them. (DTI eBook: The Collectors)
  • By the 20th century, this type of dinosaur was believed to be extinct for millions of years, but at least one was still alive in the 1970s, living in the underground jungle of Molesville, which could be accessed via Bottomless Cave.
  • It was the most highly evolved cold-blooded organism to develop from the Eryops known to Humans, and was believed to have vanished when a mass extinction occurred at the end of the Cretaceous period. It was discovered in the 24th century that a population of hadrosaur had survived the extinction event by living on an isolated continent, which was later destroyed by geological processes. Over the centuries, they evolved into a sentient space-faring saurian species, the Voth, and departed Earth for the Delta Quadrant. (VOY: "Distant Origin", "Friendship One")

(VOY: "Distant Origin", "Friendship One") The hologram depicts Parasaurolophus, one of many genera of hadrosaurs. Dan Curry identified it as such in the "Red Alert: Amazing Visual Effects", VOY Season 3 DVD special feature, where he also explained that the creature was a small rented model, but a cutout was used to give the actors an idea of what they would be seeing. He described the final creature as about 12 feet high.
