Shamanstick began his first abridged series, Megaman NT Warrior Abridged, under the youtube identity of "Nijastick". The series lasted 8 episodes all that Shamanstick describes as, "the most terrible thing he's done to YouTube". After its cancellation, Shamanstick's videomaking went on hold for quite a while before he decided to try abridging once more. Seeing how enjoyed Shaman King much more than he ever enjoyed Megaman NT Warrior, he said, "If I like the series more, it won't eventually become a pain in the ass to do", and so he chose to begin work on that series in January of 2008.
