The Home Secretary is responsible for the Department of Law & Order. The minister is required to answer questions regarding the government's law & order policy in the House of Commons, and though he or she has no other official responsibilities, it is generally expected that the Home Secretary will come up with suitable policy and legislation regarding law & order.
