He played six seasons in the WHA, all but one (1976-77) with the Jets. He retired in 1978. In the NHL Hornung scored 2 goals and 9 assists in 48 games. In 371 WHA games, he scored 34 goals and 121 assists. Larry Hornung died in Regina, Saskatchewan, in 2001 after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 55.
