Eric Soltys (b. June 17, 1975 in Needham, Massachusetts, United States) was a minor league hockey goalie and currently head coach. Eric signed with his first professional team the New Mexico Scorpions of the then Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL) playing in 153 mins in 4 games in the 1996-97 season. He made 90 saves allowed 15 goals and had 1 win, 1 lose and 1 tie. In 1999-00 Eric signed with the Indianapolis Ice of the CHL and played 27 mins in 1 game making 16 saves and allowing 3 goals. For the 2004-05 season Eric signed to be the Assistant Coach for the University of Maine Black Bears (NCAA) posting a 20-13-7 record. Then in 2007-08 was Assistant Coach for the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League (CHL) posting a 34-24-6 record. On March 28, 2008 Keith Jeffries Owner of the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced that Eric Soltys had been hired as the team’s new Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. On May 18, 2009 Keith Jeffries announced that Eric Soltys had been relieved of his duties as Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations for the Havoc due to "philosophical differences".
