HistoryText
  • Sgt. Matt Braddock was an RAF bomber pilot active throughout World War II, usually flying Lancasters, accompanied by his navigator, George Bourne . A no nonsense type who had little time for petty rules and regulations and repeatedly refused promotion, Braddock frequently clashed with his superior officers but was nonetheless extremely highly regarded. Other members of Braddock's flight crew at various times included co-pilot 'Ham' Hancox, Tom Tanner, 'Nicker' Brown, 'Hoppy' Robinson, Baa Lamb, Les Howe and Arthur Atkins.
