Megan Mullally (born November 12, 1958) is an American stage and screen actress and singer who is best known for her television role as Karen Walker on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace from 1998 to 2006. She voiced Adele in the 2004 Disney animated film Teacher's Pet, Mrs. Marilyn Driscoll in Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja and Miss Nettle in the Sofia the First episode "Make Way for Miss Nettle". She also appeared in the 2014 Disney fantasy-comedy film Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day as Nina and the ABC TV show In the Motherhood as Rosemary.

Mullally first entered Northwestern University intending to study acting, but switched to English literature. In 1985, she moved to Los Angeles with no particular success. But in 1994, she co-starred in "Grease" with Rosie O'Donnell and, in 1995, in "How to Succeed in Business" with Matthew Broderick. Her star has been rising ever since.

  • Mullally was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Martha (née Palmer), a model, and Carter Mullally, Jr., an actor who was a contract player with Paramount Pictures during the 1950s. She is of Irish descent. Mullally moved to her father's native Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of seven. She studied ballet from the age of six and performed in a ballet company during high school. She spent her summers in Los Angeles because of her mother's work. She is also best friends with Laura Innes and close friends with Ellen Degeneres.
