| - The High Elves or the Asur are a nation of Elves who live on the island continent of Ulthuan. The High Elves for the main part confine themselves to Ulthuan, though they have colonies across the known world, and their ships are the finest that sail upon the waves. Ulthuan itself is split into a number of smaller kingdoms, each ruled by a Prince. Together these Princes form a council, and it is they who decide which Elf among their kind shall be crowned as the Phoenix King, the co-ruler of all the Asur.
- The High Elves are one of three Elven races, of which have the alignment closest to good.
- The High elves, sometimes referred to as the Tareldar, were those kindreds of Calaquendi who answered the summons and travelled to Aman and settled there. High elves tended to have considerable power, such as the ability to see Ringwraiths and other shadow creatures, and to combat such entities. Sometime when Sauron was rising, most of the High elves returned to the Undying Lands while those that decided to remain in Middle-earth and continue to adapt during the Fourth Age.
- The most proud of the elven races, hence their name. They tend to only stay in there bloodline more than any other bloodline, and believe themselves to be the closest to the gods. This is why they specialize in the Divine arts of Light and Storm.
- The High Elves were those kindreds of Calaquendi who answered the summons and traveled to Aman and settled there or descended from them were also referred to as High Elves, or Tareldar. It tended to be a term used by mortals, such as Men and Hobbits to distinguish the Ñoldorin exiles and other folk who left the Undying Lands and returned to Middle-earth from lesser Elves who had never been to Valinor.

- High Elves hail from a distant forested land to the southeast, at the center of which is a massive city said to be over five thousand years in age. Both are called Eldras, and elven word meaning “New beginnings”. It was from this word that the word “Elf” first originated in old Marcurian. The High Elves are a highly bureaucratic and orderly people, treasuring the law and structure as a society. Those within elven society that find themselves at odds with the ancient ways join the Rangers, a highly-renowned force of scouts and woodsman whose sworn duty it is to protect Elven lands and interests.
- The High Elves, or the Asur as they call themselves,[1c] are one of the most ancient and powerful mortal civilizations within the Warhammer World.[2b] This grand and mighty people all hail from their ancient homeland of Ulthuan, a magically empowered island-continent of towering white cities and serene, beautiful landscapes unmatched anywhere else in this war-torn world.[1e]
- The High Elf is thought to have been the first of the Elven races and was thus considered the father of all elves. The High Elf was tall and of slender build, with a proud, and sometimes haughty, demeanor. They lived in secluded areas across the land and existed in tight-knit family units that rarely mixed with other racial stocks. The oldest member of the clan acting as Tribe Master governed them. Each of the clans had a representative in the united government that ruled over all High Elves. The united government was called the Chamber of Wisdom and was ruled by the King and Queen of the strongest tribal clan.
