Daisuke Obara (born June 4, 1981, in Hokkaido, Japan) ia a Japanese centre curently playing for the Nippon Paper Cranes in the Asia League Ice Hockey. After playing at Waseda University in Japan in 2002-03, Obara played for Japan at the 2003 World Championship. He then went to North America and played for three different teams in the ECHL in 2003-04. He then moved back to Japan. Obara played for Kokudo Keikaku and its successor Seibu Prince Rabbits from 2004 to 2009. In 2009 he joined the Nippon Paper Cranes. He also played for Japan at the 2004, 2006, and 2007 World Championships.
