Though she is not particularly tough, provoking her will agitate the dozens of subjects that are usually waiting in the wings.
- One insect might be only a nuisance, but a swarm of thousands of them can be quite dangerous to the adventurer. Insect swarms can, while not doing much physical damage, infect their victims with a disease or poison them. Insect Swarms can be found anywhere, but mostly near swamps and light during the night. Curiously, when gazers die, a cloud of insects appears in its place. The spell Insect Swarm can conjure them as well.

- Little is known of Insect society. It is composed of Initiates, who seem to correspond roughly to drones in real insect colonies, and Der Kveen, their leader. The Insects have appeared only once (in Too Much Chow!), but their dormant eggs (which the Beans call Mystery Pods) are important parts of almost every Beanworld story.
