R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) was an accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was released in July 1985 in Japan as the Famicom Robot and later that year as R.O.B. in North America. It had a short lifespan, with support for only two games which comprised the "Robot Series"; Gyromite and Stack-Up. R.O.B. was released with the intention of portraying the Nintendo Entertainment System as something novel in order to alleviate retail fears following the video game crash of 1983. R.O.B. was available in the Deluxe Set, a configuration for the console that included, among other things, R.O.B. and Gyromite. Stack-Up was purchased separately and included its own physical game pieces.

  • R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) is a robot that could substitute for a second player in the Nintendo Entertainment System games Stack-Up and Gyromite. The short-lived accessory did not prove to be popular, leading Nintendo to cancel it. In the following years R.O.B. would remain alive in Nintendo's video games, however, appearing as a playable character in Mario Kart DS and Super Smash Bros. Brawl and making several cameo appearances in titles such as StarTropics, the WarioWare games, Pikmin 2 and more.
  • R.O.B. (short for Robotic Operating Buddy) was planned to be the first secret character obtained in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. A lack of progress soon left R.O.B. by the wayside and the idea of using him was eventually taken out.
  • R.O.B. (ロボット Robotto?), short for Robotic Operating Buddy, was an accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System, intended to be disguised as a toy, rather than a video game, due to toy stores' avoidance of video games after the video game crash of 1983.
  • R.O.B. ist die Abkürzung für Robotic Operating Buddy, er wird in Japan auch Famicom Robot genannt.
Brawl,Mario Kart DS und Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/for Nintendo 3DS als Charakter spielbar.
  • Though R.O.B. was only compatible with two NES games, he has since become a recurring character in various Nintendo games; making cameos in the Kirby and The Legend of Zelda series, and becoming playable in both the Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros..
  • R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) ist ein Zusatzgerät für das Nintendo Entertainment System aus dem Jahr 1985. Sein Design erinnerte an einen Roboter.
  • Robot Operating Buddy, or R.O.B. is an 80's reject that almost no one remembers unless you waste your time with knowing who he is. R.O.B. mostly spends his life playing Gyromite or Stack-Up, which is pretty crappy, and he wants to do more things. Also, R.O.B. pisses people off quite alot, like his cousin, he pissed off the Angry Video Game Nerd and died.
  • R.O.B., known in Japan as the Famicom Robot (ロボット,Robotto), is a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. His full name is Robotic Operating Buddy, and he's based on the R.O.B. NES peripheral. He was unveiled in a mass leak prior to the Japanese release of Brawl. R.O.B. was confirmed on the DOJO!! March 6, 2008, 3 days before the US release. He is currently the first and only inorganic character playable in the entire Super Smash Bros.series. Although it looks like R.O.B. is using wheels to move on the ground, he is actually using small jet bursts from his Robo Burner. These have no effect on the fuel for the special move Robo Burner, however. Every time R.O.B. moves, he leaves small air circles on the ground, reinforcing the idea that he doesn't even use wheels to move on the floor. Ivysaur a
  • R.O.B. (short for Robotic Operating Buddy) is an accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System who has recently made appearances in a few Mario games. In Japan, it was known as the Famicom Robot, which was short for Family Computer Robot. R.O.B. functions by translating flashes of information on the television screen into physical actions (using technology similar to the Zapper Gun). R.O.B. was first used for the game Gyromite. R.O.B. did not return in Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7 or Mario Kart 8, probably he can't make time for racing now that he is in Super Smash Bros.
