Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Ashley-Scarlett (1886-11 May 1976) was an army officer, school manager and local politician active in the Hampstead area. In 1909 he was granted a commission in the 2nd Battalion of the London Regiment. During the First World War he served with the Royal Fusiliers on the Western Front. he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order in July 1918 "for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during two heavy enemy counter-attacks". He was also chairman of Wandsworth Prison.
