Synopsis
  • Aquaman has to fight Vulko’s guards, Mera, and Aqualad to close in on with Amos and Universal Food Products. But when Aqualad, in hiding, hears Amos boast about how he intends to “accidentally” obliterate Atlantis and the evidence of his wrongdoing, he comes to realize that his mentor was right. Aquaman manages to destroy the U.F.P. operation and save Aqualad from an explosion. Later, Vulko, Mera, and Aquaman are reconciled, and Vulko reveals that Amos has been “persuaded” to sever business ties with Atlantis.
  • An Indian legend leads the Flash to an ectoplasm-eating monster who menaces Central City.
  • A swarm of killer bees attack the spaceflight center where Diana Prince is in astronaut training, and leave instructor Conrad Starfield and thirteen others in comas. Diana becomes Wonder Woman, battles the swarm, and learns that the Queen Bee is behind the insects. The heroine tracks the Queen Bee to her hive and defeats her, but learns that the villainess has captured her victims’ minds and placed them in her computer, which is set to self-destruct if any hand tampers with it. However, the Queen Bee offers Wonder Woman a chance to save them, if she first becomes the Queen’s slave.
  • Vashnu succeeds in persuading Kronsky to remove the helmet and abandon his dreams of power. But now the helmet becomes sort of a hot potato as it exchanges several hands in the next several minutes. First, Deadman occupies Inga Brand's body, dons the helmet, and uses it to fashion him a new, solid body. However, the body disintegrates after a few seconds. Then, another man appears and steals the helmet, but Deadman occupies his brother's body, which causes the man to be thrown into a tank full of water, and die when the helmet explodes. With the helmet destroyed, Kronsky feels that he has nothing left now, but Inga reassures him that he has a place with his new family, the circus people. Deadman, angered, asks Rama Kushna why was he taunted with freedom from his ghostly state. Rama appears as a face on a tree, and tells Deadman that he must adjust to his ghostly gift, and warns him that it may last for an eternity. Deadman screams in frustration.
  • The Justice Society comes to grips with the sorcerer who gave Bill Jensen the power to kill Batman.
Notes
  • * "The Night of the Soul Thief!" was reprinted in Justice Society Vol. 2 and Showcase Presents: All-Star Comics.
