It was founded in 2056 to serve as a private security firm to protect the interests of Annan Enterprises. Lady Maria Kensington believed that as the company grew, its interests could only be protected by a full-time private security force. Lily, Duchess of Rossingol, fought tirelessly to deny Ares Security a corporate charter. The Duchess believed that a security force as strong as Ares would pose a great threat to the security and sovereignty of the elected government. The issue was eventually put to a vote of the J Andres Commune who determined that defense contractors, such as Annan Enterprises, are a security risk to the J Andres government and must be protected. It was determined that private armed security firms would be permitted; however, all members of the security organization must obtain Department of War and Defense security clearances. In 2057, Ares Security was mobilized to aid Emperor Richard in the Richard's Rebellion. Richard was removed from the throne within a year, but Ares Security faced public backlash for their involvement in the conflict. Annan Enterprises was forced to sell Ares Security to Anchor Security after the passage of the Webb Antitrust Act. After it's purchase, Ares Security became specialized in corporate and industrial security, while Anchor Security specialized in personnel security. In 2080, Anchor Security spun Ares Security into an independent company. After the Grand Mexican War, Ares Security thrived as traditional forms of protection fell by the wayside. Ares Security began offering mercenary services and personal protection services.
