The USS Hyperion (NCC-76447) was a Federation Sovereign Class Refit in service to Starfleet in the late 24th-century. It was one of the first Sovereigns built after the Dominion War. During the borg invasion, the USS Hyperion of the one of the 322 ships protecting Earth. When the Borg were less than an hour away from Earth, President Bacco ordered the fleet to leave the system insteading of trying to fight the Borg. After the invasion, the Hyperion was part of the task force that monitored activity at the Tholian border. After the USS Sovereign was refitted, the Hyperion received the same overhaul. It would soon rejoin its task force.

- Like the rest of her class, the Hyperion represents both the very best Starfleet has to offer in new technologies and a return to Starfleet's original goals of seeking out new life and new civilizations; not only as a scientific explorer but as a diplomatic vessel and if needs be, a ship well-equipped to defend itself. She is also an experiment; with an intelligence officer holding a position in the command staff and ship's security and tactical department comprising of only of marines, her crew has a somewhat unusual configuration.
