Packages are mysterious gifts from the character's home world that appear in the Post Office once every three months or so. These packages can be anything you want from before or after your character arrived in Canyon Ridge. However, packages do not roll over, so if you do not use your opportunity to gift the character with something creepy or awesome within one three month period, you can't do it twice in the next. For large items, it's best to talk to the mods first. The Post Office is a large building, but it can't hold everything and you have to remember that whatever you get in the Post Office eventually has to come back out of the Post Office lest it disappear after the three month mark has passed.

  • Mysterious boxes of unknown origin, they will miraculously appear in compounds across the Dead Zone in times of great need, providing vital supplies and equipment to the survivors that claim them. No one has ever seen where these packages have come from, but there are tales of mysterious figures leaving these behind in compounds they have visited.
  • The package Reza Temiz asks Zoë Castillo to retrieve for him from JIVA. Zoë eventually gets the package, but not before tangling with Sela and Kano, and saving Helena Chang's life. Zoë can give in to curiosity and open the package, but there's just a small data cube inside. Opening the package leads to different dialogue during Zoë's interrogation. Obtained from Helena Chang.

Each package also specifies the class it is for, as well as the starting gold and equipment given to a player character when that package is chosen at character creation. Packages are primarily shortcuts for the convenience of players who do not want to spend time making choices during character creation and level-up. During character creation, if a package is selected (and confirmed with the "OK" button), it will determine the skills, feats, etc. taken for level 1. Then during level-up, if continuing in the starting class, this package will determine the behavior of the "Recommended" button. (If advancing in a different class, or if the player had selected "Configure Packages" during character creation, then the default package for the class will determine the behavior of the "Recommended" button.) The determination of what to choose is based on a set of priorities, with the chosen feat, skill, etc., being the highest priority choice that the character qualifies for. This allows some flexibility in accounting for decisions that may have been made by players without the aid of a package (including choosing a second class). One drawback of packages is that they are just a fixed system of priorities, so have limited ability to intelligently adapt to unexpected circumstances. For example, if a character has weapon focus in the bastard sword and a package calls for weapon focus in the longsword, the second weapon focus will be chosen even though it is probably not really desired for that character. Packages work best if they are used consistently, with no customizations by the player. (Whether or not packages are useful even at their best is a subject of debate, though.)

Some packages are very controversial because they are quite popular among online daters (ODers) to suspect other online daters to think they are attractive in real life, which may not correlate.. Online daters rejoiced to many packages like Superhero for its abs, handsomeness and masculinity. Man and Woman for the blocky style and realism of it, and so on and so forth. Many people believe that ROBLOX is basically making packages for ODers. Many non-ODers are outraged at this update.
