Sir Melville McNaughten is a character in the novel Final Destination: Destination Zero. He is the Chief Constable of the Metropolitan police force and the boss of Inspector Abberline. McNaughten and his task force were negatively criticized by a newspaper editor, Matthew Upton, about their failure at stopping Jack the Ripper from his killing spree (he had claimed two lives before the article had been written). After the editor died mysterious from being burned inside out, Abberline went into McNaughten's office and explained to him about Upton's demise, offering a hand to help with the investigation. However, McNaughten simply told Abberline to ask for an expert's opinion, and not his own.
