However, when she grew up, her son, Roan Shryne, was likewise Force-sensitive, and Jula's husband Jen Shryne gave Roan to the Jedi against her will during one of her business trips. In 25 BBY, Jula was one of many freelancers contacted by Dooku, under his Sith alias Tyranus, to run communications gear to a complex on Jaguada's moon. Not knowing Tyranus's true identity, or the true intent of the base, she took up the job. Following Order 66, Jula was briefly reunited with Roan, taking him and other Jedi survivors aboard the Drunk Dancer. During mission on Alderaan, she was injured by [[Anakin Skywalker|Darth Vader}}'s thrown lightsaber as she and her crew was helping Fang Zar to escape to his home planet aboard their vessel. She survived injuries and tried convincing Roan to join her crew. Roan, in the end, stayed true to his Jedi nature, giving his life on Kashyyyk to distract Vader long enough for Jula and others to escape the system. In 18 BBY, Jula reunited with her husband Jen Shryne after he was devastated of Roan's death. Jula apologized to Jen for her separation and that it was her fault for Roan's death. However, Jen revealed that Roan was not the only child he had, but it was revealed that they had a second son who is force-sensitive and remains hidden on Weytta from the Empire. Jula was pleased and kissed Jen for forgiveness. Onboard the Drunk Dancer, Jula and Olee Starstone were able contact Fy-Tor-Ana that she found a hidden base, known as the Jedi asteroid. Believing that it was the only place to remain protected, Jula set course to the location. However, when they came out of hyperspace, they witnessed the destruction of the asteroid, killing Fy-Tor-Ana. Knowing that it was too late, Jula was able to set course to the Kashyyyk system before they were spotted by any Imperial. Crossing through hyperspace, Jula and Olee had a small conversation until the Padawan caught a glimpse and sensed that Quinlan Vos was alive on Kashyyyk along with T'ra Saa. Jula agreed to set course to the planet, but warned her that it was risky since the planet was controlled by the Empire. As Jula and the crew were about to find a safe landing zone, they were attacked by enemy tie fighters that followed them. Jula tried to avoid them, but the ship was getting critical damage. Spotting a small lake, Jula ordered Olee, Jambe Lu, Deran Nalual, Nam Poorf to jump off the ship, giving them time to escape and prevent themselves from been seen. As the Jedi jumped safely to the lake, Jula closed her eyes as the fighter destroyed the ship, killing her and the remaining crew members.
