| - The Horus-class Light Cruiser was a warship class designed for rapid reaction and interception. The ship is designed to mix high speed and decent armament to allow it to intercept warships as quickly as possible. The ship is near as fast as the Heimdall-class Frigate with much heavier armaments, heavy shielding and heavier armour. The ship is rarely deployed in battlegroups, more often being deployed as a patrol ship close to busy planetary bodies, being used to chase down pirates, guerillas and reconnaissance forces. The UNSC Navy employs a handful of light cruiser squadrons, mostly deploying them as flankers and rapid reaction ships, to bolster defensive or offensive actions.
