- William Forsythe is a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles County. He is a veteran prosecutor. In June of 2013, he prosecuted the murder case against Andre La Cosse, opposing Mickey Haller. When Haller pursued his alternate-killer defense, Forsythe vigorously objected to the introduction of almost every witness and piece of evidence. He was not always successful, ultimately resulting in testimony by D.A. investigator Lee Lankford that proved La Cosse innocent.
