  • Paul Louis Staroba (born January 20, 1949) is a retired American football wide receiver and punter who played in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers and the Cleveland Browns. He had previously played for the Michigan Wolverines football team. Paul attended St. Matthew High School in Flint. Staroba had modest professional totals from scrimmage with only one rush for 11 yards and two receptions for 42 yards, but he also punted 12 times for an average of 31.1 yards in 1973. However, in three years at Michigan from 1968 to 1970 he totaled 818 yards receiving on 58 receptions. This included a 178 yard effort against the Wisconsin Badgers that still ranks among the top ten single game yardage totals in Michigan football history. He was a member of the 1969 Big Ten Conference Champion team that appeared in the 1970 Rose Bowl against the USC Trojans. In 1974, he was one of 20 players arrested for picketing a scrimmage between Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears strike replacement players despite a restraining order obtained by the Packers to keep them at a distance from Lambeau Field.
