- Like most towns people of Majora's mask, Anju's appearance is recycled from a nondescript villagers of the previous title, Zelda: Ocarina of Time who may have well been known as Anju as well but never called by name. While in Majora's Mask Anju appears at first to just be a random villager again in the main city of Clock Town she is later revealed to be one of the more significant side characters with the longest running side quest. Anju is quiet, reserved and hardworking and appears to be suffering from some form of depression, showing her the Kafei Mask, gotten from Madame Aroma, and sticking around for a special delivery on day 1 at around 2 in the afternoon will put the player on the start of being able to resolve the situation that plagues her.

During the events in the game, she was engaged to Kafei, where near the end they get married. By the looks of her appearance, she is possibly a Hylian, or at least an elf. It is said that she is a counterpart to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Times Cucco Lady, whom oddly enough had bad allergies to Cuccos. Anju casually feeds her grandmother in the 3 day period in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

- Anju have been around for quite some time, not that they really notice- anju don’t have much sense at all for passing time. They do remember things, but they are more or less a collection of memories, even sequential order is a foreign concept for most of them. Though the more advanced, “intellectual” ones (who represent a more intellectual or universal fear) do have a better-organized brain/memory, and are capable of sophisticated planning and manipulation. In fact, better than most people because to them, time is no concern. Anju are all very individualistic, though they are fully capable of communicating with each other (with their own whispery-spidery language.) - In Ocarina of Time hat Anju eher eine Nebenrolle. Sie ist eine junge, rothaarige Frau. In diesem Spiel wird ihr Name nie erwähnt, jedoch wird sie "Hühnermädchen" bezeichnet. Ein Mythenstein hinter dem Wassertempel am Hylia-See erwähnt diesen Namen ebenfalls. Sie steht tagsüber in Kakariko am Hühnergehege. Wenn Link sie als Kind anspricht, fragt sie ihn, ob er ihre Hühner sucht, die im ganzen Dorf verstreut sind. Wenn Link alle in das Hühnergehege geworfen hat, gibt sie einem eine leere Flasche. Obwohl es im Spiel nie erwähnt wird, scheint Grog ihr Bruder und Mutoh ihr Vater zu sein.
