A vote of no confidence is a vote that one can issue in order to remove a leader of a government. Queen Amidala, the ruler of the Naboo, issued a vote of no confidence against Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum, the elected leader of the Galactic Republic. This move caused Senator Palpatine to be elected Supreme Chancellor.
