Rahul is a Pokémon trainer that Ryan first encounters on Cinnabar Island in the story, A Just Edge. After the two get to know each other, Rahul agrees to join Ryan and Kelly on their quest to get all of the gym badges. Throughout their journey, Rahul routinely makes references to his favorite thing ever - Doctor Who - and often tries to seduce girls in order to get a girlfriend. He is never successful in that regard. Additionally, Rahul is friends with Alex, so this causes Alex to follow the gang around sometimes. Rahul starts out with 3 badges at his introduction.

Throughout their journey, Rahul routinely makes references to his favorite thing ever - Doctor Who - and often tries to seduce girls in order to get a girlfriend. He is never successful in that regard. Additionally, Rahul is friends with Alex, so this causes Alex to follow the gang around sometimes. Rahul starts out with 3 badges at his introduction. Rahul is a loud, obnoxious kid. He is obsessive about the things which he likes, and he loves to tell people about how good of a trainer he is, how much he knows about Doctor Who, and how awesome he is in general. While his picture to the right portrays him as a skinny kid, this is not true. The Pokémon character generator does not allow for the creation of fat characters - and Rahul is very fat. Indeed, when Ryan first saw him, he mistook Rahul for a sleeping Snorlax. And Rahul only gets fatter as the story goes on. Rahul is a very outgoing person, and he tends to seek out people to converse to. He does not have a strong bond with his Pokémon; in fact, one could say his relationship with his Pokémon is strictly professional. While Rahul is sociable and has many friends and contacts throughout Kanto, his best friend shown in the story is Alex. He tries to make friends with most people he sees. His friendly personality that has allowed him to be a well-known person throughout Kanto. This allows him to benefit from his ability to call upon nearly anyone he sees to either feed him or give him a place to stay. His ability to summon up people from the trees and bushes in order to feed him is borderline magical. Ryan and Kelly are in awe of Rahul's charisma throughout the story. Rahul loves eating, and eating while watching Doctor Who would be his entire life if such an activity wouldn't kill him. He loves women and chases after them whenever he can, though they are usually far out of his league. Rahul is also a very loyal individual, and he will go to great lengths to help his friends in their times of need. Ryan has said that Rahul always seems to show up just in time to help his friends.
