| - Bwilor became skilled in handling basic droid repairs and evaluating problems in the simplest safes and locks. Despite his young age, however, Bwilor managed to become quite efficient in handling computer terminals and security holocams. In particular, Bwilor found a relaxing pastime in designing and testing security devices for large star cruisers. During his time repairing things for the nobility, Bwilor made friends with Kaeon and Syena Levarr, the twin Human children of an Alderaanian nobleman. The Twi’lek had very few non-Twi’lek friends, so the two upper-class children enamored him. The twins viewed him with a similar curiosity, and the trio became fast friends. Every three days, the twins would invite young Bwilor over to their father’s estate to play with them; their lives were boring in the vast mansion without someone else to play with. During his time with them, Bwilor participated in war games, musicals, and art contests with Kaeon and Syena, a rare occurrence for a member of the lower class. They also introduced him to martial arts, which he would practice his entire life. Bwilor visited the twins very often throughout his childhood, and the three formed a bond that lasted into adulthood. However, as Bwilor got older, he began spending less time with the Levarr children. While his parents got older, it became increasingly burdensome for them to work and manage the shop. Therefore, their sons took an active role in running the shop and taking over various aspects of the business. This meant that Bwilor found himself much more busy than before, and he had little free time to spend with the Levarr twins. On the days he did manage to catch a break, Bwilor was unable to interact with them due to their new educational pursuits; Kaeon and Syena had recently begun attending the University of Alderaan. To Bwilor’s surprise, he had received letters inviting him to attend the University of Alderaan; Kaeon had described Bwilor’s skill to several engineering professors at the university and Marcus Levarr, the father of the Bwilor’s childhood friends, promised to pay for his schooling. Even though Bwilor desired to attend to the university, the decision created a rift between him and his family. The rest of his family insisted that he should stay with them and help them run the security shop. However, Bwilor refused to yield to their demands and joined the university the following semester, upsetting his family and causing them to privately disown him. Bwilor never took his studies seriously, however, and his attitude proved too laid-back and carefree to reach the rigorous demands requested of him by his professors. After two years of attending the university, Bwilor dropped out, not intending to finish his schooling. Marcus Levarr was furious at Bwilor’s decision, and demanded that he return to his schooling. However, Bwilor refused to listen to the elderly noble and returned to his home, hoping he could take up the family business again. By then, however, Bwilor’s parents had passed away and his siblings had disowned him completely; they were no longer interested in cooperating with him. Distraught, the Twi’lek used what little credits he had left to purchase a ride on a public transport liner and made his way to Zongorlu. Zongorlu was a secluded Outer Rim world that was dotted with small towns and thinly populated cities. Since the Republic had very little control over the planet and very few spacers ever traveled to the planet, Bwilor found that acquiring work was a very difficult task. Instead of sticking to any permanent profession, Bwilor wandered the countryside performing random jobs, including salvaging droid parts from junkyards and serving as a town metallurgist for two years. Eventually, Bwilor wandered back to the port city—the first city he had dwelt in upon arriving at Zongorlu—and met up with the Bothan R’hask Sei’lar in the Morbid Mandalorian cantina. R’hask introduced himself to Bwilor as the captain of the Hawk-Bat, and after a few drinks, offered Bwilor a ride on his ship; he needed certain compartments of the ship outfitted with hideaway locks and secure storage compartments, anyway. Seeing no other choice in the matter, Bwilor accepted and joined R’hask’s crew. During his short time serving under Captain Sei’lar, Bwilor assisted the captain in several less-than-legal tasks, including spice smuggling and weapon trafficking. His particular talents allowed him to crack into safes and vaults, which Bwilor was at first loathe to do. However, Bwilor needed the credits and the ride, so he got used to the questionable legality of some of the operations, particularly since the safe-cracking he did for Sei'lar was usually to obtain the holdings of other criminals of even worse varieties. After a couple months of space travel, in 20 BBY, Bwilor parted from the Bothan captain at Commenor; Bwilor was tired of space travel and needed time to carve his own path. Nevertheless, Bwilor insisted that R’hask could contact him if he ever needed anything, or ever found himself on Commenor. Wandering about Commenor for several weeks, Bwilor eventually discovered Durashield Securities, a security company that specialized in business around Commenor was hiring. In desperate need of work, Bwilor signed up, hoping to make some easy credits. Bwilor was accepted for the job as security officer, and he was assigned Drelve Tlaleo, a Tunroth who had also recently joined the company, as a business partner. Bwilor attempted to make the best of his situation and tried to befriend the hulking Tunroth, although his initial efforts proved difficult. It was not until after he and Drelve successfully defeated a swoop biker gang known as The Skulls did they begin to see eye-to-eye. In the mean time, Bwilor had been making quite a name for himself among the Durashield operatives; he was a shrewd businessman, and was skilled with a blaster and a vibroweapon. In addition, Bwilor retained some business management skills from the time when he worked in his parents’ security shop. In addition to these traits, Drelve had noticed that Bwilor had a very strategic mind; he always managed to see the big picture in any situation and could piece together smaller pieces to lead to any lacking evidence. These characteristics, as well as his success in missions he undertook for Durashield, caught the attention of L’roon Mandas, a Kel’Dor businessman who had founded and owned Durashield Securities. Bwilor’s actions had pleased Mandas, and he offered the Twi’lek a promotion. He was offered an overseer’s position at Munto, the location of Durashield’s central office. If Bwilor accepted the position, it would make him the most important employee of Durashield; he would be second only to Mandas. Bwilor accepted the position with glee and took several days to revel in his own success before sending word to Drelve to take his things and move to the Munto office with him. They had been friends for such a long time, now, that Bwilor would not dream of participating in a mission without the Tunroth. Bwilor appointed Drelve as his personal assistant and business associate, and he would personally confide in Drelve should he ever have a problem or need an extra Durashield operative somewhere. Half a year later, Bwilor’s boss, Mandas, died of heart failure at the age of sixty-seven. Due to the fact that he was second in Durashield’s executive positions, Bwilor secured his position as the new owner of Durashield. Although he attempted to stay as true to Mandas’s original design for the company as he could, Bwilor did attempt to privatize the company; Bwilor held a disdain for Commenor government officials, due to the fact that they were incompetent and always interfered with Durashield’s profits and clients. That was not to say that he did not do business with the Commenorian government—his skills in the area of locks, safes, and security arrangements caused the government to seek his expertise on several cases involving bank robberies. As such, Bwilor was able to make several contacts in law enforcement and his years roaming the spacelanes meant that he could also talk to fringers and smugglers if he needed to. This duality of status served him well and won Durashield several lucrative contracts. He and his associates were able to continue the renowned reputation of the company and their services were frequently sought. In 18 BBY, Bwilor received a message one morning from his old friend R'hask Sei'lar, who had arrived on Commenor not long before. Sei'lar needed some help from him—quickly and quietly. Bwilor heard the urgency in his voice and, along with his trusted companion Drelve and two recently hired ex-Republic army troopers named Spectre and Twone, met up with Sei'lar. Their destination was an estate owned by a family of humans known as the Kraens, who were also friends of Sei'lar. After the Kraens had been attacked by a group of vicious Mistryl Shadow Guard mercenaries, Sei'lar asked Bwilor to provide security for them in case the attackers returned. Bwilor and his team, working with the local law enforcement under Detective Annita Daowot who'd arrived to investigate, agreed that it would be best to move the Kraens out to a secluded safe house owned by the law enforcement after another attack later that day. Once there, Bwilor, Drelve, Spectre, and Twone set up a security perimeter and placed sensors near the house in order to detect any assaults. They maintained their vigilant watch over the Kraens for the next few weeks. However, their alertness was not enough to prevent the Mistryl from arriving covertly under the cover of night. The ensuing assault took the Durashield Securities guards by surprise, and Twone was severely injured. However, Bwilor and Drelve stood fast, and while Spectre and Twone blunted the assault, the two experienced guards served as the last line of defense, killing the Mistryl who broke through to attempt to kidnap one of the Kraens, though all the guards were injured in the effort. Shortly thereafter, Commenorian law enforcement arrived and ferried the Kraens and the Durashield Securities guards back to a medcenter in Munto for treatment of their injuries. Bwilor's injuries were fairly minor, but Twone succumbed to his wounds. However, despite the loss, the Mistryl threat was ended not long afterward by the crew of the Hawk-bat, ending that particular contract. Unfortunately for Bwilor, he was informed of the death of his friend R'hask Sei'lar on another world. Still, he and the other guards did receive their pay from his successors. At this time, though, Spectre announced his intentions of leaving the company. Bwilor was sorry to see the man go, but wished him well. Their contract with the Kraens completed, the Twi'lek headed off to seek his next contracts and continue in his business. He never realized that he had been protecting the family of fugitive Jedi Knight Selusda Kraen, but in some ways that was good, for he never received any negative repercussions for his service, and Durashield Securities continued to flourish for years afterward.
