The Kingdom of Nicaea is an autonomous state within the Roman Empire, and was ruled for the greater part of its existence by the House of Anemas, whose members were descendants of the last Roman Emperor, Constantine XI Palaiologos. However, when Alexandros I ascended to the throne, he declared a new house founded, and so Nicaea fell under a new ruling house. The current monarch of Nicaea is King Hadrian I, of the House of Habsburg-Anemas.
