Louis George Karras (born September 19, 1927) is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins, until an eye injury prematurely ended his career. After his professional football career ended, he founded a successful tire business. He currently resides in Clearwater Beach, Florida. He enjoyed a successful college career at Purdue; he was a three year starter (1946, 1948-49), was selected 2nd Team All-Big Ten in 1949. He was named the MVP for Purdue in 1949. Following his college career, Lou was selected for the 1949 East-West Shrine Game, the 1950 Chicago-based College All-Star Game and the 1950 Hula Bowl.
