It was originally founded by three LCMS congregations (Saint John's, Pekin; Saint John's, Sand Prairie; and Trinity Lutheran, Pekin. Classes started in fall of 1981. Originally, the school taught grades K-4; today, classes range from K-8. Michael Odinga was the first principal; the current principal is Ralph E. Mickley.
