Song Notes: It's really strange—in the early 1990s, Mary-Chapin Carpenter was all over country radio, and deservedly so. She's a great vocalist and great songwriter—this album had about 5 or 6 radio singles, all of which got lots of airplay, and the record won the Grammy. Sadly, after this, she just couldn't buy a hit, and I don't get it. She's got more talent in her little finger than pretty much all of the Shania Twains and Gretchen Wilsons of the world put together. I had it down to this one and Passionate Kisses (probably my two favorite songs of hers), but I went with this one since she wrote it, and I don't think she wrote "Passionate Kisses". Oh well, if John Anderson (who's also pretty dang cool) has a new single, maybe she'll have a hit someday again soon, too. - Rev. Syung Myung
