He was beloved of the gods and when a drought parched all of Greece, the Delphic oracle proclaimed the drought would cease only if Aeacus himself would pray for it to. When Aeacus did, his prayers were answered and he later erected a temple to his divine father on Mount Panhellion. His descendants, the Aeacidae, would be influential during the Trojan War. He later became a judge of the Underworld with Minos and Rhadamanthys, Cretan kings.
