Morris was brought online on March 31, 2003 as part of the new Ahern/Morris Welcome Area, and serves mostly as a host to the "New Resident Build Area", as described by the signs which direct people to it from the welcome area boardwalk. This build area sandbox occupies a large portion of Morris, primarily for new users to become familiar with the building tools. Also, tucked away hidden in the northeast corner of Morris is an archery range where you can pick up a free bow and practice arching your shots into targets.
