The 7th Day The Yellow God Rests is told, unusually, backwards from the sixth day and describes the recruitment of a female police officer, thereafter dubbed Agent Sinclair, by Agent Belknap and Philips, members of a group known as the Yellow Cross, following an encounter with a lunatic who had read the King In Yellow and the ill-fated raid by Agents Sinclair and Barnett on the Pronto-Print premises where copies of the play are being printed.
