[Source] Joël is a student of the School of the Cat who wrote a letter to Gaetan. He reports that the school has been taken by soldiers, and that Axel and Cedric were killed in the process. He is not sure what became of Schrödinger and adds that he may be dead or he may be alive. He then advises Gaetan to avoid the cities and the high road because of bounty hunters, since bounties have been put on their heads.
