McMeikan also served as assistant to producer Peter Lauritson during the production of Star Trek Nemesis. She even appeared in the 2004 documentary Trekkies 2. Born in England, McMeikan attended Oxford University before coming to Los Angeles, California, in 1996 and starting her career in Hollywood. Early in her career, McMeikan was a script coordinator on shows such as Frasier (starring Kelsey Grammer in the title role) and UPN's Goode Behavior.
