Kartessa was a female individual who joined Eleodie Maracavanya's pirate crew. She and her mother were traveling as part of Senator Tia'dor Emshwa's diplomatic mission to the planet Ithor. On the way, Emshwa's CR90 corvette was ambushed and boarded by Eleodie's stolen Super Star Destroyer Annihilator. Despite her mom's objections, Karteessa joined Eleodie's pirate state, the Sovereign Latitudes of Maracavanya and became one of his crew members.
