An A-wing Squadron, Fyreflii Squadron was named after the fyreflii, a large insectoid creature from the planet Kubindi. They were present for the Battle of Mon Calamari. The unit sustained heavy losses during the battle, and it would be some months after before the unit was properly reorganized, and given new pilots and equipment.
