Kull the Conqueror is a 1997 film by director John Nicolella. It is loosely based on the stories by Robert E. Howard - but more so his Conan stories than those of the eponymous Kull! Originally meant to be Conan the Conqueror, the script was rewritten as Kull for Kevin Sorbo when Arnold Schwarzenegger refused to reprise his role from Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer. However, the story has little to do with Howard's novel Conan the Conqueror: it takes only small elements from that story: the resurrection of a long dead wizard of Acheron; Conan reuniting with his old pirate cronies; and the name - Akivasha - of one of the female characters.
