The Chief Environmental Officer is a position on board either a Starship or Starbase or other such facility that acts as a separate position to the Chief engineer. The rank of this position ranges from Lieutenant junior grade to Commander depending on the facility. This officer coordinates with the Engineering department for additional personnel as well handles all environmental needs for the facility. This officer is considered Senior staff.
