Foluwashola "Shola" Ameobi (born 12 October 1981) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward. He spent 14 years at Newcastle United, where he received a winner's medal in 2010 when Newcastle lifted the Championship trophy. However, he was released from his contract on 23 May 2014 and is now available on a free transfer. He holds the record for the most appearances as a substitute in the Premier League.
