Seventeen years before Emergence Day, the Kani Province suffered from a severe drought. Many farms in the region suffered, and many of the cities had little work that could be done. A COG recruiting office was set up in the city of Paro, and several residents from Narakir and the surrounding farm went there to sign up in order to provide for their families during the drought.
