This EX1700 features a light American maple body with cream binding mated to a one-piece maple neck with a traditional neck joint with a metal plate. It has a 22-fret maple fingerboard with dot position markers. The pickups are Ibanez Powersound humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions flanking a single coil. Other components include a synchronized tremolo bridge. This EX1700 was discontinued after 1993 along with the rest of the EX line.
