Rog came aboard in Jon Pertwang's era and first appeared in the 1971 adventure Terror of the Autons. He reprised the role of the Mattress in a ton of Third Doctor stories including The Mind of Evil, The Claws of Axos, Colony in Space, The Dæmons, The Sea Devils, The Time Monster, and Frontier in Space.
