Ilam was a Bon Amar pirate and the wife of Tal Ephis, serving as his first officer. In, 2369 she would report to Ephis that their vessel had detected the combadge of Captain Jean-Luc Picard. She would then lead a landing party to the surface of the planet to investigate it. (TNG novel: Requiem)
