The term nutripathogen describes an agent that is unhelpful to survival by activating a disease pathway. Agents are nutripathogens because of their structure and or volume. An example of a nutripathogen is single vitamin preparation of such quantity that it is in excess of the bodies ability to use it without collateral damage. An example of a structural nutripathogen is a transfatty acid. All foods and fluids are potentially nutripathogenic.
