This witch was a squat little woman with short, blonde hair and blue eyes. She was responsible for helping visitors and telling patients which floor to go to. When Harry Potter visited Arthur Weasley with the Weasleys, the Welcome Witch appeared to be a typical secretary type; somewhat rude, brief, and monotonous, which was likely used to be humourous when Harry Potter read a sign, reading "Our Welcome Witch will be happy to assist you".
