Thysis was an Andorian shen or zhen working for Starfleet Intelligence in the 24th century. She served as an aide to Admiral Nyota Uhura, the then head of Starfleet Intelligence. In 2360, while Uhura was communicating with retired admiral, Leonard McCoy, about the Romulan Gnawing disease, Thysis reminded her of an Academy class she was due to teach, and a press conference she was supposed to attend.
