Resident Evil 4: Mobile Edition is a heavily condensed adaptation of Resident Evil 4 engineered as a downloadable app for phones. The initial version was developed for Japanese NGage phones in 2005, though later became available internationally in an iOS version, as well as on the Brazilian Zeebo console in 2009. In 2010, a free version titled Resident Evil 4 for beginners, featuring only a small section of the full game, was released on the iOS App Store. This demo-like version was later renamed Resident Evil 4: LITE. A full version was later released as Resident Evil 4: PLATINUM, featuring additions.
