Captain Hector Barbossa (simply known as Hector Barbossa) is one of the three main characters of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series. He is the main antagonist of the first film, The Curse of the Black Pearl, a cameo character in the second film, Dead Man's Chest and a supporting protagonist in the third and fourth films, At World's End, and On Stranger Tides. He is Jack Sparrow's former arch-enemy. He will return in the fifth film, Dead Men Tell No Tales. He was portrayed by Geoffrey Rush.
