Emmet and Ingo debut when the mayor introduces them to Marshal, Black, White, and Chris. They then take the Battle Subway out on a trial run with White testing it. They watch her battles to see what the subway is like for a normal trainer, though Emmet says it's more like studying the example of a trainer who loses every battle. They eventually leave her to go to the head of the subway. While on the above ground track on the way to Anville Town, Emmet notes that the severe thunderstorm has triggered the train's automatic stop system. They decide to wait out the storm.
